I qualified as a Registered Nurse (Adult) in 1996 and since 2003 I have been working as a Specialist Nurse with the Acute Pain Service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Whilst working in the Acute Pain Service I saw the potential for using hypnosis in the management of pain and many other problems so I trained as a hypnotherapist with the National College for Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.

My time is divided between working as a hypnotherapist both here at Cornerstone and at Cavendish Cancer Care whilst continuing to work as a Specialist Nurse in the Acute Pain Service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Hypnosis is a state of deep mental and physical relaxation which you allow yourself to enter guided by the therapist. However to ensure that the therapy is tailored to the individual's needs the first session is an assessment to discuss the problem and any other issues which may be associated with it.

I believe in working ethically delivering therapy tailored to suit the individual while maintaining strict confidentiality. I am registered with the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP).

Hypnotherapy can help to achieve positive and lasting results in:

  • Managing pain.
  • Cessation of dependencies and habits: E.g.; smoking eating disorders (including losing weight) nail-biting.
  • Management of stress related disorders: E.g.; phobia panic attacks insomnia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
  • Managing personal crises: E.g.; accident/trauma miscarriage bereavement redundancy divorce or coping with illness.
  • Optimising psychological well-being: E.g.; stress anxiety depression.
  • Achieving personal growth: E.g.; building/rebuilding self-esteem enhancing job/career satisfaction improving sporting performance and coping with exam or driving test nerves.

It may also help with other problems not listed here. If you think the problem you face may be helped by hypnotherapy but aren't sure feel free to contact me on 07958 185245 for a confidential chat. I also offer a free 15 minute no obligation consultation which you can book by contacting Cornerstone. I normally work Monday evenings but I may be able to offer other times subject to availability. If you prefer and you live in the Sheffield area I can visit you in the comfort of your home. Please note that I do make an additional charge for home visits.

I charge £50 per session at Cornerstone £60 per session for home visits. For OAPs NHS staff and students I offer a 10% discount per session.
